November 13, 2019 – HiveIO’s Hive Fabric 7.4 offers increased security features and efficiency-enhancing integrations that remove overhead costs associated with the daily support of virtual environments. This version continues to build upon the AI-ready solution that enables organizations to deploy virtualization technology without unnecessary vendor complexity or the need for costly specialists.

Hive Fabric 7.4 removes common limitations of virtualization solutions — such as inefficient deployments and unreliable applications — from the equation as the technology builds on core performance capabilities to deliver a system that doesn’t just work but outperforms other solutions. The new features in Hive Fabric 7.4 include:

  • Authentication and Security Enhancements: Users can apply an optional layer of security to a desktop broker by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for desktop access. Microsoft Azure MFA and RADIUS enabling solutions like Imprivata and a number of other third-party 2FA and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions are supported.
  • Hive Fabric Gateway Mode: Users can place a virtual machine (VM) or server running Hive Fabric in a demilitarized zone to enhance the security of an environment by separating the responsibilities of each server.
  • One-Click Cluster-Wide Upgrade: Further simplifying day-to-day tasks for administrators, Hive Fabric 7.4 allows users to upload a software update, then with one click, automatically apply the updates to the entire cluster.

Toby Coleridge, VP of Product, says, “Technology should be transformative. We want to enable customers to focus on innovating for their business, not supporting its infrastructure. With the release of Hive Fabric 7.4, we continue to remove the complexities associated with manual configuration to drive end-user experience to new levels of efficiency.”

CEO of HiveIO, Dan Newton, adds, “Our customers chose Hive Fabric because it can be deployed, operational, and production-ready in a fraction of the time of legacy virtualization solutions. Since the launch of 7.0, Hive Fabric continues to remove traditional operational friction to deliver the next generation of responsive, reliable technology that allows doctors to see more patients, students to access education, and employees to develop new business solutions.”

Hive Fabric enables users to deploy virtual desktops, virtual servers, and software-defined storage in a single install, eliminating the need for a multi-vendor and multi-contract approach. To learn more about Hive Fabric 7.4, click here to read the full press release.
