Hive Fabric Updates: Summer 2022 Product & Performance Enhancements

By Greg Dietrich, VP – Customer Success – HiveIO Inc.

As we approach mid-2022, we hope everyone remains safe and healthy. We wanted to take a few minutes to share exciting news with our community. Specifically, we have important Hive Fabric updates and new features to discuss. We’ll also highlight some interesting trends we think you’ll find valuable.

Latest Hive Fabric Product Releases

Last time we communicated, we announced splitting our next major release into two updates. The first of those is now available. We are proud to introduce Hive Fabric 8.4.0. This release focused on stability and resilience, with numerous enhancements included.

Key improvements in this Hive Fabric release include:

  • An enhanced alert mechanism for better issue notification.
  • Improved guest access handling for smoother user connections.
  • New UI additions based on popular requests.
  • Expected platform efficiencies and critical issue resolutions, all part of this exciting Hive Fabric update.

Enhanced Cluster Health Monitoring

To provide an easy and intuitive method to gauge your cluster’s health, we’ve added a new ability. Users can now switch between the familiar “tile” view and a new “table” view. This updated view allows you to easily sort a table showing all guests, their associated resources, and relevant user metrics. As seen in the example Manage Hosts table (or implied below), this provides administrators with the information they need. They can quickly gauge cluster health and streamline their experience managing Hive Fabric. This is a significant improvement for monitoring your Hive Fabric deployments.

Hive Fabric Client Enhancements

In the latest revision of our installable Hive Fabric Client for Windows, we focused on addressing additional feature requests. These came directly from our valued customers. Combined with other efficiencies, these enhancements offer more deployment options. They also provide the ability to specify the target desktop pool. This further streamlines the end-user experience. These Hive Fabric Client updates ensure a more fluid and efficient remote work setup.

Hive Sense: Proactive Support and Valuable Insights

Hive Sense is central to our proactive support. It allows us to keep our hand on the pulse of our customers’ environments. Along with our capabilities to automate contact when we identify potential issues, we also leverage associated metadata. This data comes from our deployments. We use it to ascertain other valuable information and glean actionable insights.

We would like to share some interesting insights gleaned from this raw data. This includes usage patterns, recommended hosts, and much more.

Data-Driven Vendor Recommendations

Not a day passes without that familiar question: “What hosts do you recommend?” With Hive Sense, we can be quite accurate with our response. This is because our recommendations are derived from real-world information gathered from all participating customers. This deep insight helps us guide you better. It’s just one benefit of our continuous Hive Fabric updates and intelligent monitoring.
